Indiana Experience Director

The Indiana Experience Director is responsible to deliver an outstanding experience to all campers, parents and guests by leading a safe and Gospel-centered experience. They will deliver this experience through the development of college-aged summer leaders. They will recruit, onboard, train and lead a team of college aged summer leaders. During the non-summer months, the Indiana Experience Director is heavily involved in recruiting and maintaining relationships will college students. The role is responsible to lead a creative, and Gospel-centered program for guest groups who require a programmed event.


Key Job Functions

Responsible to lead and manage the implementation of an incredible summer camp experience at the Indiana Overnight property (INON) during the summer months ensuring a high level of safety for all guests, staff, and campers
Responsible to recruit, select, onboard, develop, train, lead and retain college aged summer leaders, equipping them for success as summer leaders
Ability to lead and engage a team of seasonal summer staff while building deep relationships. Train and nurture the team of summer leaders in their development spiritually, professionally and personally.
Engage with camper, summer leader and parent conflict, discipline, correction, and resolution
Serve guest groups who desire a programmed event
Assist with program development and age-appropriate curriculum development for summer camp and retreats at both Michigan and Indiana locations
Complete other duties as assigned by the Overnight Experience Director

Requirements
Basic requirements:

Commitment to the mission and ministry of the organization
Bachelor's Degree required
Basic computer skills required, proficient in Microsoft Office
Excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills
Ability to work varied schedules, including weekends and evenings as needed
Preferred requirements:

5+ years of experience in camping ministry or ministry related field
Self-confident, extroverted and highly relational with the ability to motivate teams
Proven experience developing effective and creative programming for youth with the ability to teach and train in group settings
Demonstrated experience in effectively leading people
Passionate about the spiritual development and growth of summer leaders
Ability to teach and train
Self-starter who is highly motivated and able to work unsupervised for extended periods
Ability to effectively problem solve and make sound decisions
Working Conditions and Physical Requirements

Ability and willingness to actively travel and recruit on college campuses from October to May (approximately 25-30 days)
Must be able to lift, bend, and twist
Ability to push and pull loads
Must be able to lift frequently up to 35 lbs.; occasionally 35-100 lbs. with assistance
Good hand-eye coordination
