Hospitality Director

The Hospitality Director provides leadership to the following: Foodservice, Housekeeping, Retail, Administration and Marketing. Long View Ranch exists to share the love of Jesus through fun, friendship and adventure. We are a small camp and retreat center in the East Tennessee Mountains. Our Hospitality Director works closely with other staff to provide an excellent guest experience.
Manages: Staff and volunteers across multiple departments with a focus on Foodservice, Retail, Housekeeping, Marketing, Administration, and Guest Services.

Purpose: To fulfill our mission by providing excellent Hospitality services to our guests through foodservice, housekeeping, retail, administration, and marketing. Commit to excellent relations across all departments, to all guests, and to the public.
This position requires leading by example in the area of our mission, vision, values, belief statements, policies and procedures. Our team members are expected to develop themselves, do whatever it takes to fulfill the duties of their role within the organization, and utilize creative problem solving.

Oversee and provide leadership for the foodservice department
Prepare menus and plans to feed guests
Lead, train, and staff the foodservice department
Oversee inventory and ordering
Maintain an orderly and clean kitchen
Abide by all health department regulations
Provide leadership and oversight for store
Maintain inventory and order items for store
Lead, train, and staff store
Provide leadership and oversight to housekeeping department
Set cleaning schedules
Prepare, improve, clean all facilities
Develop website
Create and post to social media
Develop relationships through Chamber of Commerce and other avenues
Develop donor relationships
Promote LVR to the local community through partnerships and events
Weekly meetings with staff/volunteers
Create and work within budget
Ensure excellent cross-department communications
Keep team in line with mission, vision, values, beliefs, policies and procedures of LVR
Have an in-depth understanding of what your team needs and are up against
Perform assessments for capital needs
Meet with key stakeholders and present info for needs in a clear professional manner for presentation to camp leadership and board members
Office and Administrative work as needed

Long View Ranch operates year-round. Serving people in a way that shares the love of Jesus and presents the gospel is our number one priority, and ALL staff must participate in serving others as needed. Tasks will include cooking, cleaning, facilitating group activities, running retail locations, general maintenance of camp property, and work projects as needed. Weekend and extended week-long work is required. As of the writing of this job description, LVR has a small staff and working in all areas and departments is an essential aspect of this ministry.

Abilities, Skills, Experience:
The “ideal” candidate will have:
Leadership Character and demonstrate Servant Hearted Leadership
Experience in camp and retreat ministry.
Ability to manage a variety of projects and people simultaneously.
Ability to lead and solve problems creatively and perform tasks regularly and on time
Have a deep understanding of each area under your management

Work Context: This job will be performed both on location at Long View Ranch and away from LVR as needed.

Travel: Travel/driving is required for this position.

Physical Demands:
Ability to sit, stand, walk, and focus on a singular task and/or multiple tasks for several hours at a time.
Ability to walk for long distances across varying terrain.
Ability to spend significant time outdoors in a mountainous environment is required
Ability and eagerness to lead groups of people
Some lifting of heavy objects will likely be required.

Work Environment: Time will be spent inside and outside depending on the need.

Compensation: Salary, On-site housing (not required), Paid sick/vacation time.
