Major Gifts and Donor Relations Officer
This position reports to the Director of Development and will work in close collaboration to meet the annual fundraising goals. The primary function of the Major Gifts/Donor Relations Officer is to develop strategies for the cultivation, solicitation and stewardship of donors who support the ministry of Sky Ranch. The Major Gifts/Donor Relations will be expected to identify, meet with and cultivate prospective and repeated donors. This person will also develop a comprehensive strategy and major gifts program to increase giving from current levels incrementally to fund the annual operating budget and scholarships on an annual basis. The individual will have annual target goals.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Oversee a portfolio of 80-100 prospects and donors a year: giving a minimum of $10,000 in a calendar year Participate in each step of the donor pipeline including identification; qualification through research; cultivation; briefing; request for support and prompt follow up; stewardship and recognition Develop individual donor strategies, along with materials, to renew and upgrade donor gifts Develop and execute planned and measurable actions, steps and contacts including, but not limited to: Acknowledge the donor’s generosity Deepen relationships Gain insight into donors’ motivations and giving capacity Planned giving Minimum 8-10 in person or Zoom meetings per week Create a moves management plan Track and report progress using specific metrics Make direct, face-to-face solicitations; utilizing additional resources as necessary (ie: Director of Development, President and CEO) Responsible for minimum annual fundraising goals including both renewable gifts and new incremental revenue Manage prospect and donor records in software system
QUALIFICATIONS:
EDUCATION
College degree required
EXPERIENCE
Minimum 5-10 years’ work experience related field preferred Alumni camper and counselor preferred
KNOWLEDGE OF:
Knowledge of general office and telephone protocol Must have proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Microsoft Publisher and Access), presentation software and customer database systems Proficient and active on social media and online networking tools such as LinkedIn, Facebook and Instagram Requires a willingness to work a flexible schedule with occasional evenings and weekends during the summer

PHYSICAL DEMANDS
Little to no effort required. Ability to use up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 10 pounds of force frequently to move objects. Ability to grasp, push, pull, carry or otherwise manipulate objects; ability to perform tasks requiring action of muscles or groups of muscles and foot and/or hand-eye coordination.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
Works indoors in normal office environment majority of the time (Dallas, TX) Ability to travel to East Texas at least twice a month (Van, TX)
