Hume SoCal Camp Director

Hume SoCal is located in the San Bernardino National Forest. The property originally began as a logging camp called Lightning Dale. By 1950, the property was purchased and used by Boy Scouts of America until 1980. Calvary Chapel of Costa Mesa then purchased the grounds in the 1980s. Led by the vision of Pastor Chuck Smith, the property was transformed into Green Valley Lake Christian Camp in 1991. In 2020, Calvary Chapel felt God's call to release the camp. So, they reached out to Hume Lake Christian Camps and forged a unique partnership. Through it all, the goal has not changed: to provide a place where God's people can be refreshed and the gospel of Christ can be proclaimed throughout the year!
