Director of Programs

The Director of Programs advances the mission of the organization by engaging parents and children in a family focused camp experience that strengthens the family unit. As an expert of family and children ministries, the position is responsible to design a one-of-a-kind family camp experience that improves current models of family camps.

Design and implement a unique family camp experience with a focus on kids and their parents, as partners, providing the experience
Ability to build relationships with parents, campers, and summer leaders who are vested in the program to ensure the success of the experience
Recruit summer leaders to run the family camp experience
Create and execute summer leader training to enable staff to effectively serve families
Responsible to cast vision for young families to see the value and need for the family camp experience
Provide direct on-site leadership for family camp experiences including program design, implementation, encouraging transformation, and fostering spiritual conversations and activities
Complete other duties as assigned by the Chief Experience Officer

Basic requirements:

Commitment to the mission and ministry of the organization
Bachelor's Degree
Basic computer skills with proficiency in Microsoft Office

Preferred requirements:

5+ years of experience in family and children camp or church ministry
Effective team player
Excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills
Relational leader with the ability to lead a team
Ability to work independently for extended periods of time
Working Conditions and Physical Requirements

Ability and willingness to travel within geographic regions (Midwest-primarily MI and IN) served by the camp
Must be able to lift, bend, and twist
Ability to push and pull loads
Must be able to lift frequently up to 35 lbs.; occasionally 35-100 lbs. with assistance
Good hand-eye coordination
