Food Service Associate
Mission: Create exceptional settings and inspiring atmospheres for guests of SAMBICA, serving them in a Christ-like manner at this “Light on the Lake.”
Specifics: Work with the Head Chef to serve guests of weekend retreat groups, mid-week guests, and events. Aligned with SAMBICA’s vision to Inspire Youth to Relationship with Jesus Christ, many of our guests are youth-focused groups. We also have a variety of adult or family guest groups. Food Service Associate will focus on food service, and both will assist in planning, execution, and housekeeping for groups.
Associates Program: This two-year program is designed for career-ready young adults looking to launch their career in a vibrant ministry setting. Associates will invest in SAMBICA while SAMBICA develops them through professional work, exploration of calling, mentoring, and building up their community both inside and outside of SAMBICA. This is a full-time position with salary and benefits provided. Associates will have a primary professional focus, while also contributing around 20% of their time to support other areas of camp.
Accountabilities...
Hosting Focus: Proactively communicate with and anticipate the needs of each group to exceed the goals of their time at SAMBICA. Help provide a great and lasting impression of SAMBICA.
Food Service Focus: Along with the Head Chef, create, plan, and implement memorable dining experiences for each guest of SAMBICA.
Bookends: Along with the Guest Services Manager and Head Chef, complete the “bookends” of each group’s experience. This includes front end planning, communication, and housekeeping, and completing back end evaluation, debrief, and cleanup.
Help Camp Run: Joyfully contribute 20% of your time, roughly one day per week, supporting other areas of camp (Youth Programs, Facilities, Business Administration, etc.)
Summer Role: Take on a significant leadership role within our summer team. Specifics to be defined during the year.

Accessibility and Rapport: Readily available to and able to quickly connect with guest group leaders and participants, so they know they have a point of contact they can trust. Creative Planning and Execution: Skilled at thinking outside the box, adapting, and working a creative plan from start to finish –planning, marketing, registration, staffing, setup, execution, clean up, and debriefing. Own it! Communication: Excellent personal, written, and verbal communication skills.
Qualifications...
Agreement with and willingness to sign SAMBICA’s statement of faith. Bachelor’s degree preferred, or demonstrated career readiness. Flexibility in potential shared housing situations.

Industry-competitive salary. Medical coverage provided directly or through a stipend. Generous paid time-off (22 days plus breaks at Christmas, Thanksgiving, post-summer).
