Hume New England is the newest retreat expansion of Hume Ministries.

Hume has invested nearly $20 million in the past few years to make Hume New England a new, fresh, beautiful, and affordable location for church camps and retreats.

Our various retreat centers are interdenominational, year-round camping ministries and have been dedicated to serving the church and the glory of God since 1946. We are committed to sharing a clear presentation of the gospel and giving guests an opportunity to respond.

Position Summary

The ideal candidate loves to sell what they believe in.
The Group Sales Manager is responsible for sales and registration strategies to achieve significant camp attendance growth in 2022.

The ideal candidate is both relational and driven.
The Group Sales Manager possesses the personality and relational approach to convey Hume New England as a highly-desired location for camps & retreat experiences for the local church.

The ideal candidate understands the Church.
The Group Sales Manager has ministry and sales experience and is comfortable speaking with church leadership and ministry leaders.

The ideal candidate understands New England Culture.
The Group Sales Manager grew up and is preferably a resident of New England and is very familiar with the church environment and culture of New England and surrounding States.

• Able to manage both details (CRM) and relationships.
• Works closely with sales and marketing coach.

? Key point-of-contact for all churches.
? Works with Camp Director, Program Director, and Admin/Registration Assistant to understand details and relationships with current churches and groups, represent camp programs and events, and agree on plans to pursue new churches and groups.
? Proactively contacts and engages with churches and groups through in-person meetings, phone, email and other means to develop and grow relationships and lead them to registering for camp. Target regions and states include New England, New York, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, and others as opportunities arise.
? Follows up with those churches and groups not returning and undertakes efforts to re-engage them.
? Works closely with Hume’s Marketing and Communications team.
? Coordinates local promotional events and ensures logistics and other resources are organized and effective. Attends area conferences and similar events to represent Hume New England, build networking and develop potential leads to pursue.
? Responsible for the church relations budget. Takes leadership role in monitoring, analysis, recommendations and implementation to ensure an efficient and optimum cost operation. Routinely seeks out better opportunities for higher return on investments.
? Proactively and routinely seeks feedback for personal improvement as well as department performance.
? Performs other related duties and assignments as required.

Candidate Profile

? College degree preferred but not required.
? Business, Biblical studies, and sales/marketing or similar education and experience, preferred.
? Experience in ministry or similar church role preferred.
? Experience with Christian camping preferred.
? Experience in sales and marketing.
? Familiarity with Hume’s mission, camps and retreats preferred.

? Proven strong planning and organization skills. Possesses attention to detail.

Travel and Work Environment
• Position can work remotely or on-site at the Monterey location depending on needs and proximity.
? Position requires routine travel throughout the Northeastern US, occasionally overnight. Flexibility in working schedule required to meet the needs of the position and availability of churches’ and other groups’ leadership and contacts.
