Creative Assistant
As part of the Youth Haven support team, the Creative Assistant will work directly with our Director of Marketing and Communications to help with the creation of printed and online materials for our children and supporters.
Principal Responsibilities:
• Assist with the creation of activity sheets, newsletters, and booklets for the children as part of our mail ministry. • Help generate ideas and create engaging content for our children's web site. • Assist with the creation of printed materials for Youth Haven events. • Help with planning and decorating for Youth Haven events and be present during the events to engage with guests and help things run smoothly. This includes a fundraising gala and Ladies' Days in the spring, a 4th of July Pancake Breakfast, Candlelight Dinners in the fall, and a Harvest Festival in the fall. • Take pictures of the children for promotional purposes. • Help with social media posts, specifically Facebook and Instagram. • Help with email newsletters and prayer team emails. • Occasionally write articles for Youth Haven's newsletters and blog to help keep our supporters aware of how their gifts and prayers help children in need. • Assist with the creation of forms and other documents that may be needed for our children's program and business office. • Assist with additional needs that may arise, as requested by the Director of Marketing and Communications.
Qualifications and Requirements:
• Must love Jesus and have an active, growing relationship with Him! • Have a passion and vision to reach children for Christ, specifically disadvantaged children ages 7-12. • Have a sincere and deep commitment to Youth Haven's mission and core values, understanding Youth Haven’s purpose as a home missions organization. • Be evangelistic and missions focused, desiring to be part of a “seed-sowing” ministry focused on teaching the Gospel message to children who may never hear of Jesus Christ elsewhere. • Be a creative individual who is able to generate ideas and see them through to completion. • Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills. • Must be detail oriented and efficient; a good time manager who is able to meet deadlines while maintaining excellence. • Able to interact warmly with guests at events. • Experience creating printed materials; samples of previous work would be highly beneficial. • Highly proficient and comfortable using computers and technology. Advanced skills in Microsoft Word and Excel required, including the use of tables and tabs to create forms. • Proficient with Adobe InDesign, Photoshop, and Illustrator, or a desire and proven ability to learn design software quickly and efficiently. • Experience with Wix as a website design platform a plus. • Photography experience a plus. • Able to accept feedback and adapt to Youth Haven's communication methods. • Flexibility in work schedule is important, as Youth Haven events often take place after hours or on weekends.
