Glorieta Adventure Camps is looking for someone with a strong work ethic and a desire to live and work in a close community to serve in the much-needed role of IT Support Specialist. Community The makeup of our community determines a large part of what it is like to live and work here. We have about 100 people who live on-site year round. This group includes full-time staff, staff families, and interns. Glorieta is a beautiful place with many natural resources but calls for a somewhat remote style of living.
Job Description Title: IT Support Specialist Department: HR and Administration
The purpose of the IT Support Specialist is to fulfill our mission of inspiring Christ-like change by maintaining, upgrading, and managing our software, computer hardware, and networks. Resourcefulness is a necessary skill in this role. You should be able to diagnose and resolve problems quickly. You should also have the patience to communicate with a variety of interdisciplinary teams and users. Your goal will be to ensure that our technology infrastructure runs smoothly and efficiently. Overall Responsibility and Expectations Install and configure software and computer hardware Manage networks and servers Provide IT help desk support for all staff, making sure all applications, workstations, and related equipment problems are resolved in a timely manner with limited disruptions Set up workstations and login accounts Monitor performance and maintain systems according to requirements Troubleshoot issues and outages Ensure information security through access controls, backups, and security devices Upgrade systems with new releases and models Develop expertise to train staff on new technologies Maintain technical documentation, manuals, and IT policies Work side by side with other technicians such as AVL and/or maintenance on larger projects. Character, Education, Abilities, Skills, Experience: The “ideal” candidate will be self-motivated and disciplined. Must possess effective customer service, organizational, and communication skills. Must have the ability to develop rapport and gain trust over the phone and the internet.
Personal and authentic relationship with Jesus Christ Passion to support an organization striving to create Christ-like change Proven experience as a System Administrator, Network Administrator, or similar role Experience with directory services, networks (LAN, WAN, WLAN), and systems management Knowledge of network and system security (e.g. intrusion detection systems) and data backup/recovery Ability to create scripts to automate tasks Familiarity with various operating systems and platforms, including: Cisco Meraki Ubiquiti UNMS Windows, MacOS, iOS, Android Microsoft Office 365 Google Workspace Resourcefulness and problem-solving aptitude Excellent communication skills Industry certifications such as CompTIA A+, Network+, and Security+, Microsoft Certified Professional, Apple Device Support, etc. preferred Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related discipline is a plus Work Context: This job will be performed primarily on location in Glorieta, New Mexico. Travel: Possible infrequent travel for training and development. Work Environment: This position will require performing work in various locations and buildings around our campus. Training: All employees will be given the opportunity to improve their skills through appropriate training. This will include ongoing coaching and on-the-job training as a regular part of this position.
