Who We are:
Tarryall River Ranch is a ministry-focused, family-owned Guest ranch located in Lake George, Colorado. Operating since the 1920’s, Tarryall boasts a long history of providing excellent hospitality and Western fun. Today our ranch hosts a wide range of Christian ministries, non-profit organizations, and those in our community in need. We are also open to the public for day rides, overnight stays, and private events.
A summer at Tarryall is more than a job, It is an opportunity to make a difference in the lives of others and learn skills that will benefit you long after you leave the ranch. We are looking for hard working, cheerful, motivated individuals who are service minded and enjoy community. Our baker/sous chef will be in charge of baking breads, desserts, and assisting our chefs with typical sous chef duties.
Our Summer Pastry/Sous Chef position has a starting wage of $18/hr to $20/hr plus tips, and includes room and board.
The staff at Tarryall River Ranch is a close-knit, team-oriented community. The nature of the work requires all staff to be willing to pitch in and help wherever needed, regardless of the task or the department it falls under.
-Must abide by all guidelines for food/workplace safety and hygiene as outlined by the Head Chef
-Coordinating with the Head Chef to create our weekly menus
-Baking desserts, breads, and all other baked goods needed for daily operations.
-Assisting in daily food preparation wherever necessary (as directed by the Head Chef). This may include preparing meat, vegetables or sides, weighing/mixing ingredients, undertaking cooking or baking duties, helping to label and store food, etc.
-Alerting the Head Chef of any guest allergies.
-Contributing to the overall guest ranch experience with participation in weekly events.
-Working during our occasional ranch special events
-Must be at least 18 years of age.
-Food Safety Certification required
-Baking experience highly preferred
-Expected to maintain a high level of integrity and interpersonal skills both with fellow employees and TRR customers.
-Should have competency using knives, working with and around an industrial stove/oven
-Awareness and compliance with sanitation regulations as well as safety standards applicable to the kitchen and dining room spaces.
-The ability to multitask and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment is strongly desired.
