Cabin Leaders

What can I look forward to as a summer staff member at Riverside?

Our desire is that our summer staff would first and foremost walk away from the summer knowing more of our Father's heart, our Savior's life, and our Spirit's power. WE WANT YOU TO KNOW MORE ABOUT THE LOVE OF CHRIST! That is our number one goal. Our number two goal is that summer staff would be better equipped and able to share the love and heart of God with others. This is a program designed to help you grow in Christian leadership. At Riverside we are very intentional about spiritual development. We have structured discipleship all summer long, ranging from staff devotions, to set times you can spend with God, to personal one-on-one discipleship opportunities. It is our greatest desire for you not only to minister to others during the summer, but that you also come to know Christ in a deeper way in your personal life as well!

What do we do each week?

Campers stay in cabins with two cabin leaders (That's you!) and participate in everything on the main camp site. This means that you get to lead them throughout their day, build relationships with youth, have fun, live life with your campers, and point your campers to Christ! Cabin leaders have responsibilities including helping with program events such as chapel, Bible studies, campfire, skits, pool, camp store, shares, and art fun. Cabin leaders are also responsible for teaching and at times disciplining youth. Cabin leaders are expected to be good role models by being appropriate in all things, at all times, and following ALL camp rules. Cabin leaders may occasionally find themselves on "support" staff. Support staff weeks are spent primarily working on maintenance or in the kitchen. During support weeks, all staff are expected to stay at camp and be involved in the programming each evening, except for a possible night off.

Why work at Riverside Bible Camp:

We are a camp that is focused on the sharing the Good News of the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Offering a Christ-centered, excellent, fun, relational, refreshing camp experience is our aim at Riverside, and we love doing this together as a team. We desire for our staff to live out our mission 'To know Jesus Christ and to make Christ known to all' in every aspect of their lives. To help create that environment for our full time year around team, here are some ways that we intentionally do this: *Aim for a 40 hour work week for healthy work/rest rhythm. *A Day Away each month (September-May), intentionally set aside to be out of the office and simply spend time with the Lord (during the work day). *24-48 hour Silent Retreat once a year, an extended time set apart for you to be alone with the Lord in solitude and be refreshed. *Intentional Discipling, desiring every staff member to meet one-on-one with a person to pray for them, encourage them, study scripture together, and point them to Jesus as part of your work day once every other week. Other benefits include: *Extended holiday time off over Easter, Thanksgiving, and Christmas. *Paid vacation and sick days *SIMPLE IRA matching program *Health insurance We love and value our staff, and continue to pray this prayer, "Lord, do whatever you want to do in us, so that you can do whatever you want to do through us." We'd love to chat with you about joining the team!
