Who We Are: Tarryall River Ranch is a family-owned Guest ranch located in Lake George, Colorado. Operating since the 1920’s, Tarryall boasts a long history of providing excellent hospitality and Western fun. Today our ranch hosts a wide range of Christian ministries, non-profit organizations, and those in our community in need. We are also open to the public for day rides, overnight stays, and private events.
The Position:
A summer at Tarryall is more than a job, It is an opportunity to make a difference in the lives of others and learn skills that will benefit you long after you leave the ranch. We are looking for hard working, cheerful, motivated individuals who are service minded and enjoy community. Our Summer Staff Wrangler position has a starting pay of $687.50/week and includes room and board.
Responsibilities:
The staff at Tarryall River Ranch is a close-knit, team-oriented community. The nature of the work requires all staff to be willing to pitch in and help wherever needed, regardless of the task or the department it falls under.
Upholding the safety of all guests whether interacting with horses or participating in other ranch activities Providing daily care to all ranch animals Leading, assisting with the preparation for, or accompanying trail rides Maintaining the cleanliness and repair of all TRR pens, pastures and trails Working/Training horses as needed Working alongside general staff to serve meals, clean cabins, and other tasks as assigned Contributing to the overall guest ranch experience with participation in weekly events Adhering to all guidelines for workplace health and safety as well as any TRR-specific practices or standards Occasionally working during special events, such as weddings or retreats.
Requirements:
Must be at least 18 years of age. All employees are expected to maintain a high level of integrity and interpersonal skills both with fellow employees and TRR customers. Must demonstrate that they can catch, halter and tie horses. Must also be able to saddle/unsaddle horses and exhibit proficiency in riding at a walk, trot and lope. Able to understand and follow safety standards for horse care as well as the handling and equipment required in horse care. Should be comfortable conveying their equine knowledge and expertise to others. Should be First Aid and CPR certified or willing to complete the training to become so. Must be physically able be on their feet or on a horse for the majority of each shift and capable of lifting/carrying heavy loads.
