Executive Director

Frontier Camp is beginning the search for only our 3rd Executive Director since 1978. The search committee is considering both internal and external candidates for this position.
Our current ED steps down August 31 to pursue a new career (a decision made back in January pre-COVID19) after serving in this role since 2003. Frontier Camp recently celebrated its 50th year and has a strong staff in place, is long-term debt-free, and optimistic about this summer and beyond.
Frontier Camp is a year-round ministry with five core ministries including week-long summer resident camps, staff opportunities, weekend retreats, family weekends and FC Missions (which includes Angel Tree camping, summer camp for the fatherless and a long-term partnership with a camp plant in northern Haiti (www.jacobswellcamp.org).
Our ideal candidate will have 5+ years of upper management/leadership in Christian youth camp ministries and a strong commitment to our mission, "Making disciples of Jesus by sharing God's Word in His creation", and core values: adherence to the FC doctrinal statement (think Bible church/Dallas Seminary doctrine meeting Billy Graham evangelism…the actual statement is here: https://frontiercamp.org/staff-opportunities/what-we-believe/), above reproach in character, practicing excellence, sound financial stewardship and forging/maintaining ministry partnerships.
Frontier Camp has two camp facilities situated on 130 acres of East Texas pineywoods and has waterfront on Houston County Lake as well as a six acre private cable wakeboard lake. FC’s 2019 budget was 2.2M. We serve 2,200 summer campers annually between the ages of 7 and 17 and we run our own recreational and spiritual program. 5,000 non-summer retreat guests with room to grow in both ministries. The facilities are climate controlled for year-round use, up to date and in good repair. Our cabins are primarily bunk style in separate cabins appealing to mainly youth campers, youth and mens’ groups. There are a few leadership lodges but no private, motel-style housing.
