Maintenance Manager

Camp Santa Cruz is a Christian year round camp ministry in Northern California, a couple of blocks from the beach, very close to the redwoods, in one of the most beautiful locations in the US. The camp provides facilities for churches and other Christian groups who in turn run and staff their own retreats, programs, and camps. The camp sees many young people come to Christ, as well as supporting various other ministries.

Camp Santa Cruz is looking for a full time (average 40 hr/week) maintenance manager and a part time (average 10-15 hr week) marketing/public relations lead. For both positions hours will flex in a given week depending on camps in residence and projects. For the right person these positions could be combined.

The maintenance manager position is long term, full time, and includes a very generous package with commissions, and housing.

Responsibilities
Responsibilities are primarily related to ensuring the facilities (including some historic buildings) are maintained, and supporting the facilities needs of our guests. This would include:
- regular assessment of the facilities for maintenance and repair, both long and short term
- hiring and managing vendors who do cleaning, major facilities repairs, and landscaping.
- ability to perform routine repairs/some landscaping is necessary.
- supporting the needs of the guests
- manage some housing rental units
- recruit and organize volunteer work crews
- teaming with the marketing lead as needed/fill in to give tours of the camp, welcome groups, and fill in

Experience:
• Hands on experience in construction/maintenance including plumbing, electrical, roofing, permit process, etc.
• Hands on experience in landscaping
• Hiring and supervising vendors to perform maintenance and landscaping.

Reporting
Both positions report to the facilities lead on the camp board.

Faith and Spirituality
Applicants should adhere to and personally believe the statements in the NAE Statement of Faith, have strong recommendations from their current church, and be spiritually mature. Both positions require a positive attitude, and the ability to love, serve, and maintain a Christ-like attitude with imperfect people.
