The Executive Director functions under the authority of the Koinonia Conference Grounds (KCG) Board of Directors. All other camp staff are under the authority of the Executive Director. While most of the day to day operation of the camp is delegated to the staff, the Executive Director is the final authority on all concerns related to the camp including personnel decisions.

The Executive Director must understand and support the Mission Statement and the Doctrines of Faith of KCG to faithfully fulfill the duties of the position to further the mission of KCG.

Koinonia Conference Grounds exists to bring glory to the Lord Jesus Christ by providing quality facilities, services and programs to promote a vital relationship with God in all people both locally and globally.

As the executive leader of a Christian ministry the candidate must be a born again Christian with a clear testimony of their faith in Christ and a heart for seeing people discover and grow in the love of Jesus.

The ideal candidate will have at least five years of leadership experience, preferable in Christian camping, but at a minimum in a not-for-profit, Christ-centered organization. The individual will be able to think strategically, to translate a vision into an operational plan, to effectively communicate that plan to others and to oversee it to a successful completion.

Essential Job Functions

-Supervises managers and permanent staff by leading, training and directing personnel to ensure excellence in facilities, guest experiences and operational efficiency.

-Collaborates with the Board of Directors to set the strategic direction of the camp, including participation in quarterly Board meetings.

-Encourages spiritual wellness and development in permanent and seasonal staff.

-Networks with other local leaders, especially those associated with current or prospective guest groups.

-Responsible for budgeting and overseeing financial reporting including detailed comprehension of financial statements.

-Responsible for complying with State and Federal regulations and filing appropriate forms.

-Oversees risk prevention and insurance matters (property and casualty, auto, health and workers comp).

-Maintains and enhances KCG reputation in the community, addressing media when required.

-As necessary, regularly participates in facilities maintenance, new construction projects, weekly guest group rotation duties, and liaison to local elementary school outdoor education program. On-call emergency responder
