HoneyRock Fellows-Program/Media Producer
HoneyRock Fellows Media Producer: The HoneyRock Fellowship program is for college graduates interested in exploring professional camping ministry. The Fellowship includes a Wheaton College graduate class on vocational discernment, participating in the leadership development progression, community living, paid work and discipleship of Vanguard gap year students. This position works closely with a team to fulfill the mission, vision, and commitments of HoneyRock and provides specific attention to producing content for print, video, social, and/or web platforms. Familiarity or skill with developing 18-19 year old students and in an outdoor setting is preferred. Applicants must be qualified to drive vehicles under Wheaton College driving regulations and must be at least 18 years old.
The HoneyRock Fellows are seasonal employees who work under the supervision of the Vanguard and Fellows Program manager and in partnership with their specific work supervisor.
Responsibilities and Duties
As a member of the HoneyRock staff team, fulfill the mission, vision and core values of HoneyRock and Wheaton College.
Engage as an active member in in-service training for the purpose of planning, information sharing, support, and personal, professional and community development.
Growth and development of Vanguards: encourage Vanguards’ growth toward wholeness in Christ as well as maturity in thought, speech and behavior and in their understanding of living together as members of Christ’s body.
Supervision of Residence hall- working as Fellows team with Vanguard Grad assistants to provide supervision over residence hall.
Policies and procedures: hold students accountable to follow the policies and procedures of HoneyRock and of Wheaton College.
Logistics - Driving Vanguards to and from various activities and events, building care and reporting maintenance needs, communicating information that is relevant to program.
Supervise Vanguard Gap Year students working in the Media Work Area three days per week.
Create feature photo/video for the website and social media
1. Meets with students, staff, faculty, and others to outline goals for photo/video projects; coordinates the schedule and plans for production, post-production, and delivery of the finished product
2. Prepares locations prior to shooting; conducts shoot; films interviews and
3. events using camera equipment
4. Makes technical decisions regarding such elements as appropriate lighting, camera angles and audio equipment; receives explicit instructions regarding assignment
5. Develops a project plan, communicates with stakeholders, and produces a professional-looking product
6. Completes all rendering, compressing, and processing of files to ensure
7. ensures consistency and relevancy to production; monitors technical quality of end product
Maintain archive and data back-up system
Maintain camera equipment and provides guidance for new equipment purchases
Lead and manage the Summer Photographer and Videographer to provide compelling photo/video content about student life for social media
Launch annual HoneyRock media contest; encourages participation and manages the event
Participate as a member of the photo and video pool to capture content as requested
Winter Season snow shoveling of assigned pathways.
Preform other duties as required.

Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience.
Portfolio of relevant work featuring video projects and/or photo examples
1+ year(s) experience with video production equipment, including lighting setups and various types of audio recording
1+ year(s) experience with non-linear video editing software, preferably Adobe Premiere and knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite (After Effects, Photoshop, Lightroom, Illustrator)
Able to pass Wheaton driving test and requirements.
Previous experience in camp, adventure or outdoor-related ministries, residence life.
Willingness & ability to be flexible with the needs of the job.
Must be able to stand and/or sit for extended periods of time.
Must be able to work in extreme weather conditions.
Must be able to lift and/or move up to 50 lbs – increased amounts of weight may be required.
Out of town and overnight travel is required.
All HoneyRock Fellows positions are paid positions and include a 2 credit of Graduate Course from Wheaton College at no additional cost.
Additional Employment Opportunity:
Fellows are strongly encouraged to stay for our summer season of ministry. This would be a paid position in addition to the compensation from the school year.
