Family Camp Assistant

The Family Camp Assistant supports the mission of Forest Home by coordinating various aspects of Family Ministry programs, including Summer Family Camp, Memorial Family Camp and the Home for the Holidays weekend retreat.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Plans the schedules and activities for children and youth programs within family camp events
Selects Bible study curriculums for children and youth programs within family camp and adapts them to the family camp curriculum standard
Oversees the efficient and safe operation of Chipmunk Corner during family camp events
Facilitates the hiring process for Family Camp residential staff members, attending recruiting events, as needed, conducting interviews, and completing all hiring procedures
During summers, assists with the mentoring and discipleship of residential staff members
Coordinates the recruitment and approval of Childcare Assistants
Plans the schedule and activities for CCAs
Selects the Bible study curriculum for CCAs and adapts it to the family camp curriculum standard
Shares oversight of Family Camp event execution with the Program Director of Family Ministries
Assists the Program Director of Family Ministries with other responsibilities, as needed
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
High School Diploma or equivalent required.
Experience serving in children’s or youth ministry (preferably in camp setting) of all ages.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: This position does have supervisory responsibilities.

While performing the duties of this job the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, sit, and requires sufficient hand, arm, and finger dexterity to operate office machines. Requires mild physical work; some lifting, pushing, or pulling of objects over 20 pounds. Requires visual acuity to read words and numbers and speaking and hearing ability sufficient to communicate in person or over the phone.

Work involves moderate exposure to unusual elements such as extreme temperatures, dirt, dust, fumes, smoke, unpleasant odors. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate but can be loud at times.
