18 Month Position. Working Outdoor Educations, Retreats, Leadership running a team at Summer Camp. Housing on site. Located on 700+ acres in the Smoky Mountains and on the Little River in Townsend, TN, Camp Wesley Woods (CWW) offers school, retreat, and summer programs to 5,000 youth each year. CWW offers day and overnight programming year round.
Program Specialists will assist with all aspects of the environmental education & retreat programs including activity area supervision (low/high ropes, challenge course, archery and nature center), teaching, hospitality, and hosting guest groups. CWW offers about 20 classes total in three categories: environmental education, team building and adventure recreation. Paid training is provided for all classes. Applicants must be able to lead songs/stories at campfires and possess the ability to clearly communicate with groups of various sizes and ages while exhibiting a positive team attitude. A Bachelor's degree in biology, environmental science or a related field is preferred but not required. Applicants must be 21 yrs old, a professing Christian, and have the ability to articulate your faith.
Compensation includes $275-315 per week, housing, all meals when scheduled with groups, WiFi, laundry facility and all training costs. Experience in teaching, an appreciation of the outdoors, strong faith, a sense of humor, and a hard working attitude are required skills. Seeking Program Specialists for the spring/summer (February through July) or fall (August through November) seasons. Also Seeking Program Specialist to start Mar or May and work 15 or 18 month terms with winter furlough. During the summer months, you will supervise various staff & program areas for the summer camp program.
