MISSION STATEMENT
To inspire Christ-like change through Outdoor Adventure, Authentic Relationships, and Biblical Truth.

COMMUNITY
The makeup of our community determines a large part of what it is like to live and work here. We have approximately 120 people who live on-site year round, comprised of: full-time staff/families and seasonal summer staff. Glorieta is a beautiful place with many natural resources but calls for somewhat remote living.

JOB PURPOSE
Retreat Guide is a seasonal position designed to serve all of the varying needs of guests that attend through Schools, Events, and Retreats of all types.

GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES
Contributing and participating in the greater Glorieta community
Prepping/Setting up for Retreat guests
Learning and then facilitating camp activities
Leading group development exercises for guests
Hosting retreat and school groups
Scheduling
Assuring quality control
Housekeeping
Meal prepping
Meal cleaning
Running retail locations
Leading cleaning days
Leading meal preps & cleans
Following up with guests through thank you cards, phone calls, surveys, etc
Helping with friends and family stays at camp
Managing storage areas and organize various physical assets of camp
Helping with various projects that improve guest experience
Assisting in development and implementation of systems that improve efficiency
Assisting Booking Coordinator with guest groups and communicating with them
Recruiting & retaining summer staff through communication, trips, etc.
Writing logistics sheets for Retreats
Helping market Retreats through phone calls, emails, and trips
Assisting with projects around camp. These tasks may include minor building, painting, and cleaning and helping summer programs develop curriculum and experiences
Learning Salesforce
Inspecting activities
Assisting with inventory and light maintenance of activities
Assisting with improving guest spaces (including, but not limited to, painting, general maintenance, organization, decorating, etc.)
Contributing to creative innovation discussions on improving camp and follow through with assisting in its execution

SCHEDULE
Term 1: August 5th - November 15th, 2019 (14 weeks)
Term 2: February 17th, 2020 - May 31st, 2020 (14 weeks)
Summer: Retreat Guides have the option to apply for summer staff positions
Term 3: August 3rd. 2020 - November 13th, 2020 (14 weeks)
Guides can apply to serve for any two consecutive terms

OTHER DUTIES OF ALL GLORIETA STAFF
Glorieta Camps operates year- round. We have guests on the premises almost every day of the year. Serving guests is Glorieta’s first priority. Therefore, ALL staff must participate in guest service in some capacity. Tasks may include cooking, cleaning, facilitating group activities, running retail locations, general maintenance of camp property, and work projects as needed. There are often groups here on weekends, and all staff members will be required to work certain weekends as needed

PHYSICAL DEMANDS
Ability to walk for long distances across varying terrain
Ability to work long hours for long stretches of days
The lifting of heavy objects
Bending, squatting, twisting, pushing, driving
Standing for several hours

COMPENSATION
$200 weekly compensation (before tax)
$25 monthly cell phone stipend
Retreat Guides will live on campus with housing provided
Meals are provided when serving camp guests or traveling for recruiting or marketing purposes
