The Program Manager leads and manages the Program Team to ensure the successful running of an efficient and effective Resident Christian Camp program> The Program manager key role for the ministry is developing and implementing camp programs that meet the needs and interests of campers of Alaska. The Program Manager provides leadership in using the camp ministry to introduce children and youth to Jesus and building them up in their walk with Him.
Provide management and leadership for the Program Team in operating Resident Camp Programs - including Summer Camps, Winter Camps, Spring and Fall Ranch Camps and Camp Mission Projects. This position will be responsible for all aspects of program development including spiritual development inner twined with camps amazing and fun activities, and Seasonal Staff spiritual development.
The Program Manager will also coordinate with the Guest Service Coordinator to provide program activities for our Guest Group Retreat and Conference Center operations.
Lead in the development of VBC programs and activities that will reach the lost and Christian community of Alaska.
Provide leadership to the Program Staff ensuring the year-round camp programs, tasks, and equipment are completed on time, efficiently prepared and maintained.
(Year Round Program Staff will consist of Seasonal Staff Coordinator, Intern Coordinator, Horse Wrangler Coordinator, Waterfront Coordinator, Adventure Coordinator and Activity Specialists.)
Responsible for the overall supervision of Program Staff scheduling, appropriate training and certifications needed to accomplish activity tasks and needs.
Oversee the spiritual content of all Resident Camp programs for campers, Seasonal Staff and Internships
Coordinate with the Seasonal Staff Coordinator in hiring Seasonal Staff who are the right fit for Christian ministry at camp and the planning and oversight for Resident Camp Seasonal Staff Training and orientation.
Provide leadership to the Seasonal Staff discipleship program and VBC 50/50 Philosophy.
Oversee with Program Staff routine inspections of all activity areas and equipment to ensure the highest standards are being met according to local, state and manufactured recommendations and regulations, as well as, maintaining inventories, proper storage and correct and responsible usage.
Coordinate with Guest Service Coordinator by delegating to the Program Staff regarding activities requested by Guest Groups.
Collaborate with Marketing Team the content for advertising upcoming camps and special programs.
Develop relationships with church and ministry staff for continual growth and assuredness of meeting their Christian camp ministry opportunities.
Submit and annual Program Budget in a timely manner
Manage Program expenses within the approved budget.
Maintain communications and collaborate with the Camp Director regarding the future development and ongoing program activities and camps.
Time: Full-Time Year Round
