Assists with preparing guest meals within safety, quality, quantity, and budgetary guidelines.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Assists in training Pantry Cooks, and Kitchen Utility staff in culinary techniques and standards.
Assists in ensuring kitchen equipment is maintained and used according to departmental health and safety standards.
Assists the Banquet Chef and Lead cook in requisitioning food items from the Commissary as needed.
Actively supports and participates in spiritual life activities.
Works in assigned areas as directed.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Assists in ensuring kitchens are operating within San Bernardino County Health Department codes and guidelines.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
High school diploma or equivalent required.
One year of related work experience.
Valid San Bernardino County food handler’s card; ServSafe preferred.

While performing the duties of this job the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, sit, and requires sufficient hand, arm, and finger dexterity to operate small and large kitchen utilities and appliances. Requires medium to heavy physical work; some lifting, pushing, or pulling of objects over 50 pounds. Requires visual acuity to read words and numbers and speaking and hearing ability sufficient to communicate in person or over the phone.
