Food Service Director

Camp Living Waters, a year-round Christian Camp on 100 wooded acres in Luther, MI, is looking for a person that has a heart for camp ministry. This person must be gifted in hospitality and have a love for leading people and serving great food. An excellent dining experience is one of the most important elements to our guests’ experience while they are with us. God glorifying and Gospel centered relationships happen around the dinner table. It is the job of our Food Service Director to facilitate this through excellent, age appropriate meals prepared well and served fresh.

Requirements & Expectations:
• 2 year degree in Culinary Arts/Management or 3+ years comparable experience
• ServSafe certification
• Health department compliance
• Proficiency with computer (MS word & excel or Google docs & sheets)
• Gifted in Hospitality
• Be guest oriented/personable
• Team Player
• Desire for personal and professional development and growth
• Flexible: able to serve in a variety of positions/roles, examples: occasional maintenance, snow removal, etc..
• Able to lift 50 lbs and 70+ lbs with assistance
• Ability to accomplish basic addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division in a food service application
• Develop and execute age and dietary appropriate menus
• Order food
• Manage food and labor budgets
• Train staff (summer and local part-time)
• Work with and coordinate volunteer base
• Manage Inventory and Food Cost
• Understanding of operating/cleaning/maintaining commercial food service equipment, including: convection ovens, griddle, deep fryer, soda/juice fountain, steam tables, stoves top, exhaust hood, dish-machine, walk-in coolers
• Managing food cost/meal as determined by executive board and generating monthly food cost/meal report
