The makeup of our community determines a large part of what it is like to live and work here. We have about 120 people who live on-site year round, comprised of: full-time staff and families and Interns. Glorieta is a beautiful place with many natural resources but calls for somewhat remote living.
Title: Social Media Manager
Reports To: Digital Sales and Marketing Manager
Job Purpose: To fulfill our mission of inspiring Christ-like change by creatively engaging with customers on social platforms to drive them toward a sale. The Social Media Manager will build up an ever increasing influence on various media channels and be the voice and face of Glorieta by posting creative, engaging, and interactive content. The ultimate goal is to increase our media influence and help guide potential customers through the sales funnel.
Create Social Media Strategy
Creating and executing a social media strategy that focuses on the most prominent channels and activities- Should include, but is not limited to, Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, Linkedin, Youtube, and Spotify
Creating budgets for social media activities including proposals, strategies, and execution
Working with internal customers to develop awareness and promote social media opportunities
Developing and executing social media campaigns as part of your day to day workflow
Creating and implementing social media ad content (facebook ads, google ads, yelp ads)
Develop social media to be a more prominent part of Glorieta’s organizational culture
Improve organic reach in major social networks by engaging camp staff to generate initial organic reach for your campaigns
Work with media, sales, and marketing to integrate social media with all sales funnel processes
Understand and capitalize on user personas to target audiences and help sales, marketing, and programs find tactics that lead to desired goals
2. Follow Through/Implementation
Manage social media campaigns and day to day activities
Work with Primitive Social to track results and keep communication channels open to deal with any issues that may come up in the dynamic social media marketing environment
Adjust plans and execution based on updates from Primitive Social
Manage presence on social networking sites by posting new content, answering comments, and sharing material from influencers, churches/students, and retreat customers
Insert quality content into posts (not all content needs to be original)
Manage blogger and influencer outreach program and work with influencers regularly by creating a schedule for contacting them to keep them engaged in conversation
3. Content Creation for Social Media
Seed content into social networks where it has a chance to spread
Post content on profiles other than Glorieta’s social profiles to allow our message to spread through various channels
Create/upload videos to Youtube, Facebook, and Instagram
Post and comment on relevant blogs or posts
Create and maintain a social media editorial calendar and posting schedule
Social media monitoring
Primitive Social will provide data on all listed items:
Analyze data from PS on results of social media programs
Analyze and evaluate social media campaigns and strategies
Report on effectiveness of campaigns
Monitor trends in social media
Monitor the activities of main competitors in social media
Monitor social space for brand and related topics and conversations
Understand how the social media impacts search traffic
4. Manage Staff
Oversee and lead summer interns; teaching and developing social media skills
Speak to internal customers and creatively serve them through your strategy
Other Duties of ALL Glorieta Staff: We operate year-round. We have guests on the premises almost every day of the year. Serving guests is our number one priority, and therefore ALL staff must participate in guest service in some capacity. Tasks may include cooking, cleaning, facilitating group activities, running retail locations, general maintenance of camp property, and work projects as needed. There are often groups here on weekends, and all staff members will be required to work certain weekends as needed.
Character, Education, Abilities, Skills, Experience:
The “ideal” candidate will have or be:
A personal relationship with Christ that permeates all aspects of their life
1 year of Sales/Marketing or media experience
Extensive experience and understanding of operations of social media platforms
Ability to understand and communicate Glorieta Camps message and mission to a broad spectrum of customers
Operational knowledge of content and social media calendars
Experience with editing software and photoshop
Self-motivated and self-starting
Excellent problem solving skills
Strong interpersonal and communication skills, and the ability to interface and communicate effectively with all levels of team members and guests
Comfortable and adaptive in a rapidly changing environment
Organization and planning skills
Ability to lead a team of summer staff various personalities and help them succeed
Ability to think creatively within project constraints
Confident, dynamic, positive, and driven
Work Context: This job will be performed primarily on location at the Glorieta, New Mexico location.
Travel: Possible travel for trainings, conferences, and other organizational needs.
Work Environment: Office, mountains, rivers, social gathers, and wherever you find adventure.
Training: All program employees will be given opportunity for improvement through appropriate training.
Compensation: Full-time salaried with housing and benefits.
