The Assistant Cook serves in the Big Sandy Camp kitchen under the direction of the Food Service Director. They are responsible for helping to prepare and serve meals, stock orders, refill drink machines, support the snack-shop and manage volunteers and summer staff. They help to lead the summer staff who serve in the kitchen during June, July and August.
An ideal candidate will be 18 or older with some prior food service experience. They have a good understanding of the bible and agree with the Christian and Missionary Alliance statement of faith. They should be able to lift 25 pounds regularly, stand on their feet for an extended period of time and be able to handle the rigors of working in an industrial kitchen.
This is a contract position with a desired start date of January 3rd 2019 and an end date of August 18th 2019.
Housing is provided on site for the duration of the contract. Meals are provided whenever guests are eating at BSC. Staff are paid $230 per week.
