Male Day Camp Counselor
The SAMBICA summer team is committed to the modeling of Christ in word and deed. Being on the front lines of ministry requires a deep passion for Christ. With different roles in the ministry, we are all united to serve Christ, the campers and each other. All team members are a vital part of creating a great experience for the campers and are not limited to their specialized team. Though focused on their specialized team the expectation is that we commit to each other and the greater ministry at SAMBICA, therefore serving in all areas of camp.
This role requires a desire to show the love of Jesus Christ through words and deeds. You Counselors are on the front line of ministry as they engage their campers through building relationships in order to speak truth into their lives. Day Camp counselors must have the ability to work with children and youth, as they will be responsible for 10-12 campers each week. Experience leading small group bible studies and activities preferred. Looking for someone with high energy, a fun attitude and a desire to see youth experience Jesus in one of the coolest places on earth: camp!
Each week there will be many opportunities to show and speak the love of Jesus Christ to campers. There will be 1 week of H2O Extreme Day Camp (grades 4 – 8), 3 weeks of Jr. High Day Camp and the rest of the summer will focus on grades 2 – 6. The majority of responsibilities will take place during the workday, but this position will have responsibilities in the evenings, such as helping with dining hall clean up or Overnight camp programming. Counselors must be flexible and adaptable because no two cabins or days are the same in this role. Experience communicating with elementary aged kids preferred. Weekly Wage: $200, plus room and board.
