High School Adventure Mentor

The SAMBICA summer team is committed to the modeling of Christ in word and deed. Being on the front lines of ministry requires a deep passion for Christ. With different roles in the ministry, we are all united to serve Christ, the campers and each other. All team members are a vital part of creating a great experience for the campers and are not limited to their specialized team. Though focused on their specialized team the expectation is that we commit to each other and the greater ministry at SAMBICA, therefore serving in all areas of camp.

The counselors of our High School Leadership program, these people must have a heart for teenagers to hear the Gospel of Jesus Christ. By working side by side with the students, they will show participants how to serve as someone serving for the Lord. Working in the different areas of the high school program, each mentor will work with a set amount of students during the day to challenge them in that mentality. These roles must have a fun attitude as they serve, the ability to lead high school students, good communication skills and be spiritually mature. Public speaking and high school youth mentorship experience is preferred. Mentors will be placed in one of the following areas after training. Weekly Wage: $215, plus room and board.
This person must have experience camping
and hiking. The Adventure Mentor will be taking 10-12 high school students each
week to experience the foundation of faith while staying off-site.
Some days this person will stay at SAMBICA with their students and other days they
will stay at a campground in the Greater Seattle area off-site in partnership with
Compass Outdoor Adventure. Each day will be an adventure in the greater Seattle area,
which could include, but is not limited to: camping, hiking, rock climbing, visits to
downtown, water play time, or other activities. Through escaping the normal day-to-day
routines, mentors will challenge high school students to look at the foundation of the
Christian faith through reflection and Bible study times.
