Position Title: Summer Camp & Special Programs Coordinator (Full Time Position)

Reports To: Director, Truett Conference Center & Camp
Supervises: Summer Camp Program Staff, Recreation Staff, Environmental Education Program Staff and Ministry Internship Program Participants
Works Cooperatively With: Executive Committee, BSCNC staff and cooperating churches
-Understand and support the mission of the Baptist State Convention of North Carolina
-Understand and support the mission of Truett Conference Center & Camp.
-Serve Truett guests and part time staff through managing summer camp, recreation, environmental education and ministry internship programs.
-Provide direction and implementation of summer camp operation including the recruiting and training of any staff needed for such.
-Create a marketing strategy for summer staff recruitment, summer camp promotion, internship program and environmental education program.
-Lead creation and coordination of implementing a new Experiential Environmental Education program targeting local school systems, 4H groups, Boys & Girls Clubs, Home-School organizations, etc.
-Ensure safety in the implementation of Truett operations, programs, services and facilities.
-Ensure that the summer camp program meets all health and safety regulations and standards set forth by the state of North Carolina.
-Fully understand all Truett recreation services and become proficient in both leading and teaching each activity as well as implementing new recreations / activities as become available.
-Work with Truett’s Director in maintaining a high level of morale, cooperation and coordination within the entire Truett staff.
-Commit to being a teammate who is approachable, trustworthy, honest and dedicated.
-Maintain office hours, agreed to by Truett Director, to ensure properly staffed operations in the office.
-Work with other Truett staff in hosting retreat groups.
-Be knowledgeable regarding Truett events including staff and guest issues, schedules, maintenance and needs.
-This position may require on campus residence.

-Must have an authentic Christian faith that creates a self-motivating desire to see God at work in their life.

-Must be people-oriented, self-motivated, hardworking, attentive to detail and creative.
-Must have the ability to accept and give guidance and supervision.
-Must have a desire and ability to work with children, youth and adults in a camp ministry setting.
-Must have the ability to relate to diverse staff and guests.
OTHER ATTRIBUTES / RESPONSIBILITIES
-Work in consultation with the Director of Truett in developing and managing Truett’s budget for any program assigned.
-Minimum of a 4-year Bachelor’s Degree preferred.
-Willing to attend continual professional development/educational opportunities
-Any Seminary Education a plus
-Minimum of 3 years of experience in Camp Ministry preferred
RANGE OF MOTION CRITERIA
-Be able to stand, stoop, bend knees, arms, and legs in normal range of motion.
-Be able to lift up to 30 to 50 pounds easily, be able to move heavier items with help.
-Be able to operate all equipment related to performing the tasks outlined in the job description
-Be able to lift chairs and tables to set up for meetings.
-Be able to communicate effectively and follow instructions. Must be able to read and understand safety signs and have good judgement skills.
