The makeup of our community determines a large part of what it is like to live and work here. We have about 120 people who live on-site year round, comprised of: full-time staff and families and Professional Semester students. Glorieta is a beautiful place with many natural resources but calls for somewhat remote living.
Job Purpose: To fulfill our mission by assisting the Director of Programs with any and all responsibilities to ensure the success of each program’s goals.
Maintains a personal relationship with Jesus Christ, is a consistent witness for Jesus Christ and maintains a courteous, Christ-like attitude in dealing with the internal and external customers of the Camp Eagle Family of Camps.
Create, adjust and be competent with Salesforce reports
Willingness to learn new skills on a daily basis
Ability to be flexible with time-off and new policies
Form authentic relationships with group sponsors and leaders, teachers, future guests, and staff (full-time, summer staff, and interns)
Run activities, facilitate group development sessions, prepare and clean meals, clean all of camp, answer the phone, and help in any way needed during any season of camp
Host groups and events on a rotation with other Program Staff
Aid in the purchasing of necessary equipment and material for the success of all programs.
Take lead in gathering content for testimonies/blogs for every program
Help gather/edit/monitor content for all Glorieta social media channels
Help gather/edit/monitor content for all Glorieta websites
Help gather/edit content for all Glorieta mass emails (pre-camp, post-camp communication)
Be willing to work in Retreats, Conferences, Kitchen, and Housekeeping departments and be able to fill in as needed
Assist in Summer Staff Recruiting/Training through:
Planning the training schedule
Sending out Summer Staff Supervisor Agenda weekly/taking notes
Be a part of the Summer Discipleship program
Mentoring/Leading Bible Studies throughout summer
Coordinating Summer Staff Love efforts
Help with Recruiting trips and follow-up, as needed
Coordinating/Booking Summer Staff Housing
Develop and Screen Summer Music playlists
Help Schedule/Communicate with Program team as necessary
Help all programs as needed
Assist the Director in whatever else is required
Other Duties of ALL Glorieta Staff: We operate year-round. We have guests on the premises almost every day of the year. Serving guests is our number one priority, and therefore ALL staff must participate in guest service in some capacity. Tasks may include cooking, cleaning, facilitating group activities, running retail locations, general maintenance of camp property, and work projects as needed. There are often groups here on weekends, and all staff members will be required to work certain weekends as needed.
Character, Education, Abilities, Skills, Experience:
The “ideal” candidate will have:
A vibrant relationship with Jesus Christ and commitment to scripture and will continue to pursue that further
Strong sense of hospitality and customer service
High degree comfortability with phone calls and emails and guest interaction and public speaking
College Degree is preferred
Ability to use technological systems at Camp proficiently
Proficiency in use of spreadsheets
Experience with Salesforce
Ability to work long hours
Ability to confront, encourage, and inspire staff towards excellence in their work
Easily communicates with guests and staff in a professional manner
Strong administrative and organizational skills
Experience with event planning or the equivalent is highly desired
High level of managing details and and motivating people
Ability to delegate and respond to situations in a Christ-centered way
Ability to problem solve and be flexible and adaptable with the changing and developing needs of guests and staff and handle the resulting actions with speed and kindness
Work Context: This job will be performed primarily on location at the Glorieta, New Mexico location
Travel: Occasional travel to help with recruiting, marketing, or trainings.
Physical Demands: Ability to lift 60 lbs, sit in office, hike, stand all day, be willing to get your hands dirty.
Work Environment: Will be asked to help with logistics and all-camp projects, including working in inclement weather conditions throughout the year.
Training: Employees will be given opportunity for improvement through appropriate training.
Compensation: Salary, onsite housing, medical insurance, 401(k) retirement package after one year, and paid vacation time. See HR and/or potential supervisor for details.
