Guest Services Director

Skyview Ranch is a dynamic Christian Camp and Retreat Center that sits on 175 rolling acres in the heart of Ohio Amish Country. Skyview is a working ranch that offers a full line of camp-related activities including high ropes, paintball, marksmanship, assorted water activities in our state-of-the-art pool and a spring-fed pond, as well as caring for 23 horses for riding. The camp continues to have strong summer attendance and to be innovative in its camp and retreat offerings. The camp is staffed by 8 year-round salaried positions plus a strong apprentice program. It has a good summer staff retention with many returning for 3-4 years, a solid volunteer core, consistent donor base and an excellent rapport with a large constituency of churches, individuals, and the community, enabling the camp to have a rich spiritual history and a solid financial status.

POSITIONS THAT REPORT TO THIS POSITION:
• 9-Month Guest Services Apprentice
• Summer Support Staff Supervisors
• Summer Lifeguards
• Summer Cleaning Supervisor
• Summer Volunteers associated with the above areas

EMPLOYEE DESIGNATION: Staff
FLSA STATUS: Exempt, Full-Time

SKYVIEW RANCH DOCTRINAL POSITION:
All job applicants should be aware that Skyview Ranch is a private religious employer which holds specific doctrinal positions. All employees of SVR must be in full agreement with the doctrinal positions of SVR and agree to live by workplace lifestyle standards. POSITION SUMMARY DESCRIPTION:
The Guest Services Director is responsible for all guest group scheduling, hosting and payments.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF THE POSITION:
1. Guest Services:
a. First and “main” point of contact for all guest groups.
b. Book and schedule all guest group events.
c. Communicate guest group pricing.
d. Confirm receipt of signed guest group contract and deposit.
e. Ensure all guest group contracts and invoices are sent out within a week
f. Place all necessary guest group information on the calendar.
g. Set guest group schedules, coordination, and assign SVR staff to designated areas as needed a minimum of 2 weeks prior to group arrival
h. Ensure guest group policies and procedures have been communicated to our guests.
i. Host guest groups when needed.
j. Train apprentices and other SVR staff on “hosting” responsibilities.
k. Ensure all lodging, meeting space, and details are ready for guest group arrival.
l. Ensure all camp “turnover” has been completed after guest group departure.
m. Ensure camp cleaning supplies are ordered and distributed to cleaning closets in cabins, shower houses, and dining hall.
2. Ranch Store:
a. Work with the media department to choose and design apparel to be sold.
b. Choose all products that will be sold from the ranch store.
c. Order all apparel, candy, pop, and souvenirs.
d. Keep inventory of items sold during the year.
3. Programming:
a. Assist the program director with planning SVR retreats.
b. Assist the program director with recruiting summer staff.
4. Office:
a. Answer incoming calls when Administrative Director is unavailable or out of the office.
5. Summer Camp
a. Make recommendations to hire Lifeguards, Cleaning Supervisor, and Ranch Store manager.
b. Oversee the daily duties of the lifeguards, cleaning supervisor, and ranch store manager.
c. Assist the Administrative Director in overseeing volunteer orientation and daily duties.
d. Assist Program Director with various programming needs.

NON-ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
1. None

QUALIFICATIONS:
1. Minimum of 5 years of experience in Camping Ministry with an emphasis on Guest Services, Office, and Administration duties.
2. Above average communication skills – both written and verbal.
3. Proven organization.
4. Excellent time management skills.
5. AED, First Aid, CPR certification required.
6. Must possess a valid Ohio driver license.

GENERAL PROFESSIONAL EXPECTATIONS:
1. Agreement with the Doctrinal Statement, Employee Contract/Offer Letter, and the SVR Employee Policy Guide.


ENVIRONMENTAL CONSIDERATIONS:
1. Routine discomforts such as moderate heat, cold, moisture/wetness, or noise.
2. Routine exposure to light chemical substances and occasional exposure to hazardous conditions related to farming/ranching
