Housekeeper

Overview:
To be responsible for the overall cleaning of the facility as required to provide a clean, sanitary and attractive environment to a variety of guests. To be conscience of safety and a high standard in job quality.

Qualifications:
Experience in, or willingness to learn, good cleaning techniques with an eye for quality in cleanliness and appearance of facilities. Able to convey an attitude of service to our guests to help make their experience as positive and meaningful as possible.

Accountability:
To be employed by Judson Collins Center (JCC) and accountable to the Director. Specific needs may be communicated through the JCC office administration. Cleaning guidelines to be set forth in policy and procedure, both written and verbal.

Duties & Responsibilities:
A: Clean buildings, sleeping rooms, meeting rooms, bathrooms, porches, entryways, etc. as required by their use and according to reservation needs. Cleaning will consist of sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, dusting, washing, etc. of all floors, walls, furniture or fixtures. Pay special attention to smudges, smears, tracking, cobwebs, mold and mildew.
B: Be sure all paper towels, toilet paper, soap dispensers and garbage cans are properly supplied, cared for and functioning.
C: Regularly inspect and repair, replace or report as necessary all non-functioning lights, smoke detectors, fire extinguishers, plumbing, electrical or other maintenance items.
D: In conjunction with maintenance personnel, be sure all garbage is collected and hauled away at appropriate times.
E: Keep an inventory of all housekeeping supplies on hand. Order supplies as needed according to policy and within the housekeeping budget.
F: Take all lost and found items to their designated places according to policy.
G: Be responsible for care, service and proper storage of all housekeeping equipment.
H: Keep all housekeeping storage and supply areas cleaned and organized.

Note: These duties are exemplary only and the staff member agrees that the camp functions in total unity only when each member contributes freely to its smooth operation. Thus, staff members may be assigned responsibilities across the job description lines.

Work Hours, Remuneration and Benefits:
Work hours and workweek will be flexible depending on the season and determined by the reservation schedule and group needs. Meals are available at no charge when being served in the dining hall and are during your regular scheduled work hours. Workers compensation is provided for all employees.
