• Trained in food service, comply with health and food safety standards and regulations
• Inspect food prep areas to ensure observance of safe, sanitary food handling practices
• Weigh, measure, and mix ingredients according to recipes
• Prepare, season, and cook according to recipes
• Turn or stir foods to ensure even cooking
• Observe and test foods to determine if they have been cooked sufficiently
• Portion, arrange, garnish food and give to servers in timely manner
• Regulate temperature of ovens, broilers, grills, and roasters
• Bake breads, rolls, cakes and pastries
• Follow end of shift duties to maintain kitchen organization, cleanliness, and preparation for next shift
