Children's Program Counselor

Qualifications:
1. Must have a faith in Jesus Christ
2. Ability to relate well with children and/or teens
3. A loving, patient, flexible, servant attitude
4. Ability to prepare and teach Bible lessons on a child/teen level
5. Ability to work with others and follow through on responsibilities

Responsible to: Children's Program Coordinator(s)

Specific Responsibilities:
1. Prepare Bible lessons in advance for age group from curriculum (provided)
2. Teach Bible lessons daily to group
3. Plan and execute activities that are appropriate for age group
4. Prepare and teach art activities
5. Spend 1 to 2 hours daily in lesson and activity preparation
6. Teach and motivate children to learn daily/weekly memory verse(s)
7. Be on time for and participate in devotionals & meetings
8. Write class needs on the announcement board prior to meals each day
9. Clean/tidy your room or area after each use
10. Organize and execute weekly camp out (5th grade and up)
11. Help judge and write certificates for weekly sandcastle contest
12. Help set up, organize and run weekly Kid’s Banquet
13. Keep craft closet and program office tidy
14. Join with other department crew members each Friday for “turnover” (Housekeeping tasks such as making beds, cleaning bathrooms, dusting, vacuuming, etc.)
15. Help in general camp operations as needed (dishes, housekeeping detail)
16. Be a Christian example in word and deed.
