Why Your Next Workout Should Be Outside

A study found when cyclists pedaled in front of green images they had less mood disturbances and reported lower levels of exertion during their workout. The color green as seen in natural environments such as grass, trees and other plants increases an individual’s likelihood to return to a workout outside rather than a gym. “Positive effects of green exercise on physical and psychological wellbeing have been found, yet little is known about the underlying cognitive mechanisms responsible for such effects.”
