The primary responsibilities of the Facilities Maintenance Technician 1 are to assist in maintaining the existing facilities of Palomar Christian Conference Center. The Facilities Maintenance Technician 1 may be asked to help in other areas of the camp maintenance program
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Ensure that all facilities are properly maintained, including repairs and/or replacement of any damaged or broken fixtures, etc. This may require working with heavy equipment and machinery.
Ensure that all interior/exterior of all facilities are painted as needed.
Ensure that all HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and refrigeration systems are properly maintained and recommend replacement, as required, to the Site & Facilities Manager.
Ensure that all fire alarm and fire sprinkler systems are regularly tested and inspected and are properly maintained.
Ensure that the swimming pool is maintained to County standards.
Renovation & refurbishment of current Facilities in an expedient manner. Ensuring that all systems pertinent to projects are installed to industry standards.
Provides Utilities to Point-of-use per all Departmental requests.
Participate in the construction of new facilities at the direction of the Site & Facilities Manager.
Ensure that all vehicles and equipment are properly maintained and repaired as needed.
Snow removal on Conference Center grounds, i.e. shovel, plow, or snow blower.
Keep regular, timely attendance while maintaining a clean, safe and unobstructed workplace*

JOB SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS
Demonstrates a personal relationship with God through Jesus Christ, exercising personal faith through consistent daily living in accordance to Gods Word
Understands the mission of Palomar Christian Conference Center and is in agreement with its Statement of Faith, and submits all other goals and desires to that main goal
Possesses excellent verbal and written communication skills
Possesses interpersonal skills such as are required to maintain positive relations with both staff and guests
Possesses excellent customer service skills and presents a professional appearance and demeanor
Possesses strong attention to detail and organization while managing multiple priorities
Is proficient in basic Microsoft applications (Windows, Office, etc.)
Maintains a professional appearance through personal hygiene and grooming habits.
Able to accept detailed instructions and proceed in a professional and expedient manner.
Able to lift a minimum of 100 lbs.
Able to spend extended periods standing, sitting, walking. Must be able to lift over the head and bend over. Must be able to perform repetitive tasks with hands. Must be able to grip tools
Able to work in inclement weather conditions such as rain, snow, heat, wind, etc.
Must have at least (1) one year experience in operating general construction tools and equipment and/or similar responsibilities.
Must have at least (1) one year experience in general facilities maintenance or related fields, including electrical knowledge, plumbing and pipefitting, and carpentry.
TYPICAL WORK SCHEDULE
8 hours per day, 40 hours per week
