Lead Intern for 2017-2018
About the SAMBICA Internship Program:
The SAMBICA internship is a paid opportunity for Spiritual Formation, Self-Discovery, and Service in a strategic, fast-paced camping ministry environment where the majority of campers do not attend a local church. You’ll grow as a disciple of Jesus Christ, develop practical living skills you can take with you, and receive one-on-one mentoring from our full-time ministry staff. The purpose of the program is to obey Jesus’ command to make disciples who make disciples. SAMBICA interns will split time between administration, youth programming, and camp operations staff, with a defined Focus area among those departments.
SAMBICA Lead Interns are leaders from within:
They are 1-2 people who are part of the SAMBICA Internship, and also…
- Have SAMBICA Internship experience or have significant experience in a variety of camp positions.
- Step up to an RA-type role within the team
- Lead and develop new SAMBICA programming
- Are identified as a point person among the team when working in various areas of camp
- Assist in training and establishing expectations for the Intern Team
- Build Community among the team
- Are given a platform to capture and use their unique gifts
- Are heavily involved in the discipleship of their teammates
- Are examples of Christ-like servant leadership
- Earn a small stipend in addition to the Intern Stipend
What to Expect:
The SAMBICA Internship is a training and proving ground for spiritual development. SAMBICA Interns can expect to build community with fellow members of their team through weekly study, prayer, and reflection groups around three primary purposes:
2) Practical Living Skills
3) 1 on 1 Mentoring
During your intern year, September through May, you will accumulate valuable experiences, mentors, and knowledge that will prepare you for stepping into the next phase of your God-given calling and unique personal design. Most successful interns will take on a summer position at SAMBICA before and after the internship, making this a 15 month experience.
Housing in community, a significant portion of your meals, and a stipend that is very adequate to cover any remaining living expenses are provided. The SAMBICA Internship is very blessed to be a part of the MJ Murdock Vision and Call Program. The Intern Team typically consists of 8-10 people ages 19-26. We will have a blast creating community, exploring the Seattle area, and participating in an international mission trip (typically Costa Rica) together.
Internship positions are available for the 2017-18 SAMBICA Intern Team.
