Assistant Host & Facilities
Diamond Arrow is in need of an assistant host to give the full-time host relief during the busy spring, summer, and fall seasons. When not hosting, the person in this position would fill a facilities position to create a full-time job between the two positions. The host position is an important one! The host is the liaison between the guest group and the Diamond Arrow staff and helps things run smoothly for the group. Basic duties include setting up meeting rooms and sound equipment before groups arrive, greeting the guests, checking in with group leaders on a regular basis and attending to their needs, and leading turnover (cleaning used facilities) after the group leaves.
The facilities portion of this position is equally important in providing an exceptional group experience. The person in this position will be performing a variety of duties including maintaining guest group facilities by scrubbing, sweeping, mopping, and vacuuming, making minor repairs such as changing light bulbs, touching up paint, and fixing small plumbing issues, and keeping storage rooms clean, organized, and well stocked. During slower periods this position may also participate in maintenance projects and help in the kitchen.
The person in this position should expect to work a minimum of 40 hours per week.
Must be friendly, have a basic knowledge of sound systems, be able to lead a crew of young people, and be a meticulous cleaner. Must be self-motivated and efficient. Must be able to lift 50 pounds and work in cool, warm, and hot conditions. Must be 21 years of age.
The assistant host/facilities position receives a salary of $24,000 a year plus shared lodging (including phone, trash, and utilities) and meals.
