Director of Human Resources
Hume Lake Christian Camps is looking for an individual with a passion for ministry and a desire to serve others.
The Director of Human Resources is responsible for guiding and managing the overall provisions of Human Resources services, policies and programs for the organization; originates and leads Human Resource practices and objectives that will provide an employee-oriented, high performance culture emphasizing empowerment, quality, productivity and standards, goal attainment, and the recruitment and ongoing development of a superior workforce. Provides executive level leadership and advises organizational Directors, Managers and Supervisors on Human Resources issues. Ensures compliance with all existing government, State and local labor requirements including any related to the Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO), the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), the Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA), Employee Retirement Income Security Act (ERISA), the Department of Labor, worker compensation, the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA), etc.
Educational requirements include, the minimum of a Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration or equivalent field. Undergraduate degree in biblical/theological studies, is a plus. Advanced degree or professional certification in the Society for Human Resources Management—Professional in Human Resources (PHR), or Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR) preferred, or the equivalent combination of education and experience.
This position requires strong inter-personal skills with the ability to project a friendly attitude; work with a variety of ages and personalities and with a diverse group of internal staff (at all levels) in a fast-paced environment, sometimes under pressure, remaining flexible, proactive, resourceful and efficient, with a high level of professionalism. Expert-level written and verbal communication skills, strong decision making, and attention to detail are crucial to this position. Applicant must also be prepared to meet the spiritual needs of staff and guests and perform other related duties and assignments as required. Position offers health benefits and housing on campus.
