Master's Program

The Masterís Program internship is a unique position within the Sky Ranch organization that is both a staff position and a ministry training program that includes enrollment in one of three Masterís degree programs through Dallas Baptist University. This two year internship supports the mission and ministries of Sky Ranch Van (TX) by providing Outdoor Education instruction during the non-summer months and serving in a lead position during the summer months at one of Sky Ranchís four camp locations . Secondary work responsibilities will include experiences in a variety of settings within the organization including retreats, marketing, curriculum development, activities design, recruiting, and various other areas. The overall program is designed to develop ministry professionals who will continue their careers in camping, church ministry, schools or any other child, youth and family based organizations. We are looking for highly motivated, ambitious individuals looking to develop their professional resumes and develop themselves personally and professionally.

Qualified candidates should possess the following: Be a committed believer in Jesus Christ, with active membership in a local church. Have an undergraduate degree, preferably in education or ministry. Must have a heart for reaching children, youth and families with the Gospel. Willing to commit to learning the Sky Ranch model of purposeful play and becoming more effective at serving Christ through engaging ministry. Excellent customer service skills. Able to effectively lead and work in a team environment Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Must be able to work well under pressure and maintain confidentiality of highly sensitive personal information. Highly organized with an ability to multi-task easily and give strong attention to details. Requires physical agility, common to setting up events, including but not limited to: bending for items below or reaching for items above the individual; carrying equipment; stooping, and climbing step stools or ladders. Ability to travel to various geographic locations, including travel by car, and some overnight stays. Ability to vary schedule when needed, including some overtime, nights and weekends; Normal work hours are Monday through Friday, 7:30 to 4:30, and working at least one weekend a month. The program is a two year commitment and is delivered in a cohort model. Must be able to live on camp during the internship if suitable housing is available.
