Marine & Facilities Staff


Support the on-going maintenance, repair and operation of marine facilities, vessels, vehicles, equipment and other infrastructure at Campus by the Sea (“CBS”). This position requires a person with a strong work ethic, a willingness to serve and a desire to grow professionally and spiritually.

• Maintain vessels, vehicles and equipment with attention to quality and timeliness
• Perform maintenance on marine facilities including: moorings, floats, pier, lines and ramps
• Maintain camp utilities including: telecom, propane, water, electrical, sewage and fire-suppression systems
• Complete repairs for vessels, vehicles, equipment and camp infrastructure as needed

• Operate CBS vessels and equipment in support of guest activities and on-going operations
• Maintain shop areas considering safety, regulations, efficiency and cleanliness
• Assist in training other camp staff in proper operation of vessels, vehicles and equipment
• Assist with a variety projects associated with camp facilities, waterfront and infrastructure

• Annually affirm InterVarsity's Statement of Faith ( )
• Willingness to work at least 40 hours per week on a varied schedule including evenings and weekends
• Have good communication skills, a professional demeanor and a service-oriented attitude
• Good aptitude to multi-task efficiently and independently
• Ability to stand for long periods and to lift or carry items 50 lbs. or less

• Have knowledge in the operation and maintenance of boats, outboards and marine facilities
• Have knowledge in maintaining and repairing equipment and vehicles
• Ability to operate tools and light equipment
• High School graduate, at least 18 years of age

• Have work experience in welding and metal fabrication
• Have experience in the operation of heavy equipment and vehicles
• Current SCUBA Open Water Diver Certification or better
• Possess knowledge of plumbing, electrical and carpentry principles
• Professional certifications in Lifeguarding, First Aid, CPR & AED
• InterVarsity background or equivalent ministry experience and culture
• College graduate, trade-school certificate or post-secondary coursework
• Hold an USCG OUPV Skipper's License (“6-Pack License”)
• Preferably at least 21 years of age
