Chef-Joshua Wilderness Institute
Hume Lake Christian Camps is looking for an individual with a passion for ministry and a desire to serve others.
The JWI Chef is responsible to assist both the Associate and Senior Directors in various aspects of daily operations and is involved in collaborative decision making within the team. The job will include active team building and conflict resolution both with students and with staff. The chef will be responsible to create and maintain the Joshua Food Service program, creating menus for nutritional, tasty and varied meals. The Chef will develop ongoing mentoring relationships with students, as well. Obtaining a Class B drivers license and driving students for trips is an additional responsibility of this Job.
This position requires strong inter-personal skills with the ability to project a friendly attitude; work with a variety of ages and personalities in an intense academic environment, sometimes under pressure, remaining flexible, proactive, resourceful and efficient, with a high level of professionalism.
Extended out-of-town and/or overnight travel will be required, sometimes for 2 weeks at a time. Applicant must also be prepared to meet the spiritual needs of students and perform other related duties and assignments as required. This is a year-round, full-time position with health benefits. Additionally, housing is provided on campus.
