Assistant Food Service Director
This is a full time, year-round, paid position. We feed 100,000+ meals a year. We have been growing for the last 8 years with no sign of slowing down. Most of our guests are children, junior high and under. We have 3 full-time positions in food services and about 30 part-timers depending on the time of year. We are looking for someone who wishes to grow, with the opportunity to become Starting date ideally would be the first half of February. This is a production kitchen you must be organized and have the ability when necessary to work quickly on more than one thing. We also have 2 snack shops. At least 2 years experience in a camp or production kitchen highly desirable.
Expectations:
Able to read and write English. Must be able to read cursive Able to use at least MS Word and Excel Able to add, subtract, divide and use fractions. Able to work varied shifts as seasons demand. Can start as early as 4 am and can run as late as 12pm Able to work weekends as needed. Able to have a changeable days off. Able to stand on your feet for at least 8 hour days. Able to work with direction but not constant oversight Able to lift up to 80#. Striving to be Christ-like. Roles and Responsibilities:
This is a hands-on working position. Be observant and able to take action from that. Be a self starter, self motivated. Have strong cooking and management skills or willing to be trained. Responsible to oversee the preparation and cooking of meals. Responsible for completion of preparation for the following day. Responsible for being sure leftovers are properly used. Responsible for cooler management. Responsible for proper opening or closing of Food Service each day. As time permits identify new menu items, experiment with and develop as needed to point of usefulness. Responsible for sanitation of Food Service Department during assigned shift. Be ServSafe Certified or willing to become so ASAP. Enforce and Comply with all Washington state regulations Willing and able to comply with Food Service departmental procedures. Willing to find a way to comply with the guest's request. Understand guests come first and are why we are here. Willing to work with the Food Service Director and be part of a team. Be part of writing job descriptions of those under you. Be CPR and First Aid certified as needed or willing to become so certified. Other duties as assigned by the Food Service Director or the Camp Director.
